During the Researching Process...

The more and more I researched my initial topic, "Children shouldn't have technology," the more I started to strongly-support it. I'm normally pretty convincing, I tend to sway sides on many debatable topics. But, not this one. Children need to be exposed to more of the "real" world instead of the digital world. I think it's acceptable for children roughly four-five to start diving into the technological world, given that many schools are giving fourth graders iPads or tablets already. Children should be going outside exploring our beautiful world, not to sound too old-fashioned, but they should go out and play in the mud! I have so many memories playing in the creek, or splashing in a rainstorm (I probably wiped the memory of getting sick right after that), riding bikes, going for runs! I shouldn't want to force my children to grow up the same way I did just because I had fun, but I want to. I learned so many life lessons, like how to poop in the woods, long story short. Children have brains that are still developing and the more situations and conflicts their exposed the easier it is for them to understand how to solve them. Many sources of technology emit UV rays that can potentially damage the eyes, and reel the brain into an addiction. Children are so sensitive, and they deserve to explore the world before they're sucked out of it and pushed into the digital, electronic, cyber bullying, image obsessive, cruel, addictive world existed only through technology. I believe less is more in this situation, I want to be able to talk to child without them having anxiety of what to say because they lack communication skills, or make them nervous and panicky. I want to be able to connect with my children and just talk about life without having so many distractions. I want children under the age of five to have very limited access to technology, because it does more harm than good!
