Choosing a Research Topic

We have been given a list with so many different, intriguing topics about the social-online world. My top three choices are: How Digital Media has changed our communication skills?, Social Media's impact on teens, and How does technology affect attention spans? I choose these three because I wanted to focus more on what social media has mentally affected me and the people around me. I'm excited to learn about all of these topics, but I have to narrow it down to just one. To do this I will first scan what others are planning to research to be sure I don't do the most popular topic. I feel as if that would get 'annoying' to continuously read about the same topic! One topic that I might toss out would be the impact on teens, only because I've seen many others pondering about this very same topic. I'm very interested in the communication skills and how the social media alters our ability to converse. This might just be the one I pick... I mean who knows how scrolling through Pinterest for hours can be destroying how we're able to keep up with a conversation. Are we comprehending what we're being told? Are we now hearing instead of listening? If so, how can we change, or should we change?
